Port Gallice is locatedat the start of Cap d’Antibes, a stone’s throw from La Pinède Gould in Juan-les-Pins and opposite the bay of Golfe-Juan and the Lérins islands. Its 525 berths primarily accommodate pleasure craft and smaller yachts (under 43 metres – maximum draught of 3 metres). It is much appreciated for its calm waters, being sheltered from both east and west winds.
The port in its current form was inaugurated in 1967, but the bay where it lies has always served as a harbour for ships and boats - in the Middle Ages it was known as “The Turkish Galley Port”. A certain Edmond d’Esclevin donated a plot of land at Pointe du Crouton, so that local fishermen could build a shelter comprising two small houses. Next to this was a little harbour attached to a property belonging to Georges Gallice. In 1962, thanks to its new owner, Michel Talmier, it became possible to start building a new port, “Port Gallice”.
