Xavier as much engraver as painter or sculptor, filmmaker or director creates a unique universe.
His invented characters will live a spring the Picasso museum.

Xavier is back in the country of his childhood holidays, in Antibes where he learned to swim off the beaches of Salis, accompanied by his parents who then visited Picasso, his great-uncle, in Cannes or Mougins. If there is a family of artists in the history of art, Xavier’s is one of the most remarkable. His father Javier Vilató was, with his brother José Fín, one of the two artists sons of Lola, the younger sister of Pablo Picasso. Javier Vilató married Germaine, the daughter of painter Elie Lascaux and sister-in-law of Daniel- Henry Kahnweiler, the historical gallerist of Picasso. Xavier found himself with his great-uncle the most important artist and one of the most famous art dealers of the twentieth century. It was probably predictable that the little boy who mania brushes and tools of engraving from an early age also became an artist, or more exactly several artists, today hosted at the Musée d'Antibes that Xavier knew even before it was renamed the Picasso Museum. This touch-to-everything, this singular of art is in fact as much engraver as painter or sculptor, filmmaker or director of scenes, to create a unique universe, populated with invented characters who will inhabit a spring the residence of the Master, and which he has called circonflexe, adjective that characterizes what has curvatures, sinuosities – indeed numerous and prolific in his work.
