Starting June 18, the Espace Culturel des Arcades is hosting the exhibition «Olympic and Paralympic torches from 1936 to the present day».
A collection of more than 130 objects related to the history of the Olympic Games that we owe to the Greek private collector, Stratos Klimou. The links between Antibes and its twin city of Olympia have done the rest and allowed this exceptional exhibition to be held during the Olympic Games in Paris.
You will be able to admire 41 Olympic and Paralympic torches, including that of 1936 of the Berlin Games, an Olympic altar of the ship used to transport the flame, a priestess’s dress of the ceremony of lighting the flame in Olympia, Medals of champions and many other souvenirs, symbols of the history of the Games.
Since 2016, the collection has been exhibited in several Greek cities, and has even travelled to Tokyo, where it has been a great success. More recently, during the lighting ceremony of the 2024 Olympic flame, it was exhibited in Olympia.
