The Reflection of Light by Philippe Bresson

Born in Casablanca in 1953, Philippe Bresson has been attached to the Côte d'Azur since 1959.

He is a student of the Freinet School, a unique educational place that played an indisputable role in his formation. He acquired a strong taste for the work of materials and the creation of volumes but also an unlimited curiosity and permeability to what surrounds us. Philippe Bresson develops an internationally recognized talent for exceptional art cabinetmaking. In 2012, his studio acquired the label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant.

Convinced that every individual has the duty to venture into new territories, Philippe Bresson leaves wood to explore new materials and their multiple possibilities of torsion, compression, assembly and sublimation.

Metal, packaging cartons, body paints in saturated colors, glass castings or neon lines... Philippe Bresson works in sequences on these materials, in a patient elaboration and a deep tenderness for these industrial wastes. These series, each containing several dozen pieces, play volumes, vibrations of colours and reliefs in a wise balance of strength and sensitivity.
