The Hartung-Bergman Foundation presents in its villa-workshop in Antibes an exhibition bringing together three artists: Hans Hartung, Anna-Eva Bergman and Terry Haass. “Sharing the Sensitive” is the Foundation’s first exhibition to which a third name has been added: that of the Czech artist Terry Hass. A name that is still little known, but which joins those of Hans Hartung and Anna-Eva Bergman, artistically through its abstracting language with multiple references and humanly through the friendship that binds her to the couple.
Terry Hass, borned Thérésa Goldman in 1923 in Czechoslovakia, produced a rich, very diverse body of work, dominated by a remarkable practice of printmaking and sculpture, and by a language that never completely cuts itself off from motifs. We can mention in particular those of the physical sciences, the great geographical elsewhere and the founding myths, which, from the outset, places her in the same artistic family as that of Hans Hartung and, even more, of Anna-Eva Bergman who she met in Norway in 1951.
