“Croisette – Opérettes des Années Folles” is the perfume, joie de vivre and carelessness of the Roaring Twenties. When the Riviera, depicted by the Fitzgerald, was opened and the Cannes palaces were inaugurated, the musical directors of the Cannes casino were none other than Reynaldo Hahn and André Messager.
The National Orchestra of Cannes and its musical director, Benjamin Levy, wished to pay tribute to this period and to this repertoire by bringing together a cast composed of some of...“Croisette – Opérettes des Années Folles” is the perfume, joie de vivre and carelessness of the Roaring Twenties. Openings, airs and ensembles, in their original version, give us the testimony of this wind of sweetness and celebration that, a century ago, swept over post-war France. For our hearts today, always insatiable for happiness and freedom, this breath of fresh air is more essential than ever.”
